Prof Robyn Alders

Professor Robyn Alders

Robyn Alders is a veterinarian and an Honorary Professor with the Development Policy Centre within the Australian National University and the Veterinary Department of Infectious Disease and Global Health, Tufts University, USA. She is co-Lead of the OFFLU Socio-Economic Working Group, co-Chair of the Advisory Committee of the FAO-WOAH Peste Des Petits Ruminants Global Eradication Programme, a member of the PREZODE-WOAH One Health Science-Policy Dialogue Working Group, and a member of the PPATS Lancet Commission on the Prevention of Viral Spillover.

For over 30 years, Robyn has worked closely with smallholder livestock farmers in sub-Saharan Africa, South and SE Asia (including Timor-Leste), and Oceania as a veterinarian, researcher, and colleague, with an emphasis on the development of sustainable infectious disease control in smallholder livestock farmers in support of food and nutrition security, income generation, wildlife conservation, and public health. Robyn’s research and development interests include food and nutrition security/systems, One Health, gender equity, inclusive policies, and science communication.

Robyn has published over 200 publications across diverse formats and received several professional and service awards.
