Professor Roselyne Joyeux

Dr. Roselyne Joyeux is a honorary Professor in Economics in the Macquarie Business School at Macquarie University in Sydney, Australia. She has held positions at Cornell University, the University of Auckland, and the Centre for Operations Research and Econometrics at the University of Louvain-la-Neuve. She obtained her PhD in Economics and her Master in Mathematics at the University of California San Diego.
She researches in areas which are highly relevant to the Australian society, economy, and industry: house prices, Chinese stock markets and housing markets, energy economics, carbon emission trading. Her papers have been published in Urban Studies, the Journal of Urban Affairs, the China Economic Review, Annals of Economics and Statistics, Applied Economics, the Energy Journal, the Journal of Financial Econometrics, Economic Modelling and the Economic Record. She has gained international recognition for her interdisciplinary work and was appointed on the Australian Research Council (ARC) college of experts. This prestigious appointment gave her the opportunity to influence the research environment of the tertiary education sector.
She engages with industry and government on policy issues which are relevant to the Australian society and economy: housing policies, pricing of family day care and in home care, biodiversity credits pricing, effect of infrastructure on house prices, pricing of local amenities (such as parks).
