Prof Pauline Stanton

Professor Pauline Stanton

SENIOR ASSOCIATE

Pauline Stanton is an Honorary Professor and former Dean of the School of Management and acting Deputy Pro Vice Chancellor Business International at RMIT. She was also Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Business and Law at Victoria University Melbourne and Head of the School of Management and Information Systems and Director of the Victorian Graduate School of Business. Pauline has a Bachelor of Economics and Social Science from the University of Manchester, a Masters of Employment Studies from the University of Salford and a PhD from La Trobe University.

Pauline has published extensively on human resource management and industrial relations with a particular focus on healthcare. She has over 120 publications including journal articles, books, book chapters and reports. She has supervised 15 PhD students to completion. She has taught, researched and consulted with public and private organisations in Australia, China, Mongolia, Singapore and Vietnam and has secured ARC Linkage, ARC Discovery and industry grants from organisations in health, defence and international development. She has also had the privilege of working with First Nations academics on research relating to both economic and political self -determination.

Pauline has also provided executive education on a range of issues including leadership development, performance management and human resource management for a number of organisations for example the Australian Medical Association, Amalgamated Manufacturing Workers Union, Collingwood Football Club, Mornington Peninsula Shire Council, Ho Chi Minh City Television, National University of Mongolia, Hanoi Post and Telecommunications and Qindao Municipal Government. Pauline was a member of the Member of Expert Panel Revalidation of Medical Practitioners, Medical Board of Australia 2017-2018.

Pauline is currently Co-editor in Chief for Personnel Review, a leading international human resource management journal and a board member of Central Highlands Rural Health. She is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a graduate of their governance course.

Pauline’s expertise includes strategic thinking, planning and leadership; governance; research strategy development; grant writing and writing for publication; working in Asia and building industry connections.
