SENIOR ASSOCIATE
Graeme Martin gained a PhD from The University of Western Australia (UWA) and then worked in France (INRAe) and in Scotland (MRC). He then returned to UWA and subsequently reached the level of Professor (Chair) and is now Professor Emeritus. His research focussed on how environmental factors affect reproduction, mostly in the sheep and the emu, using techniques in neuroscience, endocrinology, metabolism, behaviour, reproductive technology, molecular biology, and computer modelling. He used his experience to develop ‘clean, green and ethical’ livestock management, a theme he incorporated into ‘UWA Future Farm 2050’. He has trained 40+ PhD students and published 380+ peer-reviewed papers (h = 53). He is a Lifetime Member of the Society for Reproductive Biology (Australasia) and a Fellow of the Australian Association of Animal Sciences. In 2019, he was elected as Associate Member of the Academie d’Agriculture de France and, in 2021, was awarded the 2021 Marshall Medal by the Society for Reproduction and Fertility (UK).
