Emeritus professor Jayne Godfrey is a Director of the Analytics Institute of Australia, a Member of the CA ANZ Disciplinary Tribunal and Director of BAS Consulting.

During a career that spans directorships, academic governance, consulting, and regulatory roles, Jayne Godfrey has received the Australian Centenary Medal for Service to Australian society through business leadership, and been a Telstra Businesswoman of the Year. She was awarded Life Membership of the Accounting and Finance Association of Australia and New Zealand (AFAANZ) for her service to the academic accounting profession and also the AFAANZ Award for Outstanding Contributions to Accounting and Finance Practice. In a regulatory context, she has served multiple terms as a member of both the Australian Accounting Standards Board and the (national) Water Accounting Standards Board, and currently contributes to the development of international water disclosure standards.

Jayne’s academic experience includes senior leadership positions in the University of Auckland Business School (2017-2020), the Australian National University College of Business and Economics (2011-2014) and the Faculty of Business and Economics at Monash University (2008-2011). She has also been a member of the Monash University Council and President of the Academic Board.

Jayne has an international reputation for her research and has worked and collaborated with institutions in the UK, France and the USA, and authors across the globe. She played a pivotal role in bringing together three universities, government and industry to establish the Melbourne Centre for Financial Studies (now Australian Centre for Financial Studies). She has published extensively in the field of accounting regulation and has been a key participant on successful research funding from the ARC, government and industry exceeding $4m.
