Chris Rose

SENIOR ASSOCIATE

Chris Rose is a designer, researcher and educator specializing in creative cross-discipline work in the field of design, currently working in global knowledge network initiatives between UK, USA, Australia and Finland. He has been a full time senior faculty at the University of Brighton, England until December 2009 in the Faculty of Architecture and Design, in the Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning in Design and in the Centre for Research and Development where he supervised design-related PhDs and taught in both undergraduate and graduate study. Chris was then Senior Critic at Rhode Island School of Design USA, where he was also a research consultant for NSF funded arts-science-design collaboration.

He co-developed the ‘BioDesign Studio’ graduate class beginning in 2017 taught within the RISD Edna Lawrence Nature Lab. He continues to conduct professional seminars in research, creative process, and in cognitive and material sciences linked with arts, sciences and design interactions, especially where these involve the science and phenomenology of nature. Seminars have included UK, Finland, South India, Italy, France, Germany, Holland, Australia, and USA. He works with the present osmocosm.org team working with machine olfaction technology.
