Dr Melody Ellis

Dr Melody Ellis is a writer and academic based in Melbourne. She completed her undergraduate studies in fine art at Sydney College of the Arts, and in 2014 was awarded a practice-led PhD in creative writing from RMIT University. She has over 12 years’ experience working with researchers—across various disciplines—to develop research proposals for predominantly the Australian Research Council grant scheme.

Melody has experience working with all aspects of ARC proposals as well as in assisting applicants to move from the idea-phase of their research project to a clear outline of their project.

Having worked for many years in Arts Management she is also an experienced project manager with high-level experience coordinating both research projects and major art exhibitions. She has worked for numerous not-for-profit arts organisations including The National Association for the Visual Arts, The Biennale of Sydney, the Athens Biennale, West Space, un Magazine.

She currently teaches creative writing and literary studies in the School of Media and Communication at RMIT and is a member of the non/fictionLab.
