Prof Helen Klaebe

Professor Helen Klaebe

SENIOR ASSOCIATE

Professor Helen Klaebe is a senior strategic leader, educator, and researcher with a sophisticated understanding of the complex workings and nature of tertiary institutions and delivering applied impactful research in communities. Helen also has specialised leadership experience of research and research training, development and engagement of higher research degree students and supervisors.

While holding key roles Helen has built her personal academic and professional reputation by implementing impactful ways of writing, telling and visualising authentic and effective stories for organisations, individuals, and the public through trusted collaborations with institutions, governments, industry and community partners − recently focusing on the social impact and engagement of arts and culture in remote, rural, and regional Australia. Helen’s research is highly collaborative with industry and community, as well as being interdisciplinary in nature to ensure impactful applied outcomes for partners and has attracted more than $2.7million in Category 1-3 research income, and $5million+ in international development consultancies, while regularly publishing (traditional, NTROs and industry reports), supervising HDRs, and mentoring academic and professional staff across disciplines.

Currently Helen is Senior Research Learning Consultant and Honorary Professor in the School of Communication and Arts, Faculty of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences, University of Queensland and Adjunct Professor of Creative Writing in the Creative Industries, Education and Social Justice Faculty, Queensland University of Technology.
