Dr Abigail Dennis holds a PhD in English Literature from the University of Queensland with a specialisation in nineteenth-century British fiction. She currently works as Senior Grants and Research Manager at QMF (Queensland Music Festival), where she manages grant applications and acquittals across all levels of government. She also manages multiple philanthropic and higher education partnerships, including partnering with Queensland universities on various ARC and CRC applications and projects.
Abi brings over a decade of scholarly and arts-focused communications and research experience, and a track record of brokering cross-sector and industry-research partnerships. She has worked in the Office of Advancement at the University of Toronto, for the ARM (Advanced Robotics for Manufacturing) Hub in Brisbane, in arts administration, and as a freelance film, literature, and broadcast writer and researcher (in both Canada and Australia). She specialises in translating complex scholarly research in accessible and engaging ways for a range of audiences, including industry, government stakeholders, and the general public.
